Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide information to website owners. Cookies cannot run programmes or deliver viruses to your device.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies on CalculatorDashboard.com for two purposes: to understand how people use our free calculators so we can improve them (analytics), and to show advertising that helps keep the site free. Non-essential cookies — including analytics and advertising cookies — are only placed after you give consent through Google's certified consent message.
We manage your cookie choices through Google's Privacy & messaging, a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) delivered by the Google AdSense tag, together with Google Consent Mode v2. Analytics and advertising storage are set to denied by default and are only granted for the categories you accept. Your consent choice is recorded by Google's consent tool on this device so it can be applied on future visits, and is not shared for any other purpose.
Interim analytics consent: while our Google advertising account is being approved, Google's consent message is not yet shown. In the meantime we ask for your analytics consent with our own simple banner (Accept / Reject). It only controls Google Analytics — advertising storage stays denied — and your choice is stored on your device in a single local-storage entry (cd-consent-analytics) holding only "granted" or "denied". Once Google's consent message goes live, it will replace this banner.
3. Cookies We Use
| Cookie Name | Provider | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Analytics | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated number as a client identifier | 2 years |
| _ga_XXXXXXXX | Google Analytics | Analytics | Persists session state for GA4 | 2 years |
| __gads / __gpi | Google AdSense | Advertising | Used by Google to serve ads, measure ad performance, and limit how often you see a given ad. Set only with your consent. | Up to 13 months |
No analytics or advertising cookies are set until you consent. To remember your decision, Google's consent tool stores a single strictly-necessary entry on your device that records only your consent choice — no identifier, and nothing that can identify you. Clearing your browser's site data for CalculatorDashboard.com removes it, and Google's consent message will appear again on your next visit.
Google AdSense may set additional advertising cookies on the google.com and doubleclick.net domains when ads are served. A full, up-to-date list is available in Google's advertising cookies documentation. These are placed only after you consent to advertising cookies.
4. Cookie Categories
Strictly necessary storage is what the site needs to function and to record your consent choice. It does not require your consent and cannot be disabled. On this site that is the small consent entry Google's consent tool sets to remember your decision.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how visitors interact with the site — which calculators are most used, how long people spend on pages, and where errors may occur. This data is anonymised and aggregated. We only place these cookies with your explicit consent.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are used to serve ads, measure their performance, and cap how often you see the same ad. Advertising helps keep CalculatorDashboard.com free. We only place these cookies with your explicit consent, and by default they are set to non-personalised until you consent.
5. Your Consent
When you first visit CalculatorDashboard.com from the UK or EEA, Google's certified consent message appears. Non-essential storage is set to denied by default under Google Consent Mode v2 until you make a choice. You can:
- Accept — analytics and advertising cookies are placed and personalised ads may be shown
- Reject — no analytics or advertising cookies are set; ads are served on a non-personalised basis and analytics runs without setting non-essential cookies
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page, which reopens the consent message (Google's, or our interim analytics banner while Google's is not yet live). Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately: analytics and advertising storage return to a denied state and are no longer used.
6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are links to cookie management instructions for major browsers:
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some websites, though it will not affect your use of CalculatorDashboard.com's calculators.
7. Opting Out of Google Analytics
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
